tapestry.

tapestry — open tools for moving images

every frame
tells a story.

tapestry is a growing collection of open, quiet tools for filmmakers, photographers, and everyday creators — starting with the humble act of pulling a single frame out of time.

about tapestry

tools that treat footage
like film.

tapestry began with a simple observation: the moments that matter most in a video are stills. a gesture caught mid-sentence. light landing on a face. the one frame you would print, if printing were still the point.

most software treats media as assets to be managed. we would rather hand you the film. every tapestry tool is open source, runs on your own machine, does one thing with care, and leaves the negatives with you.

extract frames is the first — a way to walk through footage frame by frame and keep what moves you. more are on the bench: loops worth sharing, contact sheets, subtitles burned into light.

the tool

video in.
stills out.

one pass of the engine turns footage into a contact sheet you can curate — then keep as a zip.
